I’ve signed up to do the MODRocker race in April, this involves a 65 Mile bike ride which encorporates 6000ft of climbing!! I’m doing it with three other people, one of them is a former Olympic cyclist (Sara Symington) and another is one of the world’s top triathlon coaches (gulp!) so I’ve got my work cut out!
The Ministry of Defence has granted one off permission to include a cross ranges ride that also cuts above Elsdon, Hepple, Rothbury and Holystone.
Along with all of the training prior to the challenge, I will be fund raising for Rock 2 Recovery.
R2R strive to create positive change when it is needed most. Following their unique experiences, they recognise the need for rapid preventative interventions, specific coaching and assistance, including the provision of short and long-term refocusing support for veterans leaving the service with brain Injuries and mental health issues attributable to their period of service.
Last year alone saw just under 600 clients. This is an increase from 295 in 2018.
