“I’m Stephen, I am an outdoor guide in The Lake District and I am attempting to summit Ben Nevis for R2R. Unfortunately I have lost several friends over the years due to their struggles with mental health and I would really like it if no family has to go through that again and can get the help they need.
Whilst a Ben Nevis summit may seem simple, I will attempt it on the last weekend of July 2020 whilst wearing a Bergen filled with 32lbs (30 miler Royal Marine standard weight) worth of stones and carrying a further 30kg on my shoulders (in the form of a log). The log will represent the weight on peoples shoulders that are currently suffering who need help. The stones will have the names or military numbers of people that sadly lost their fight written on them. If people sponsor me then they can have a name added to a stone if they wish. I then aim to build a natural monument at the summit with the stones which people will hopefully notice and can add their own tributes to over the years. The names on these stones deserve to be at the top of the world. It would mean a great deal to me and the people I’m doing this for if you could spare anything to this cause. Cheers
